Linda Groves, Seaview Art Gallery, Isle of Wight

Hi, I'm Linda

Proud Owner of Seaview Gallery and Islander.

Seaview Art Gallery is owned and run by me, Linda Groves.

I'm an Islander and have grown up with an enduring interest in art and the Island art scene. I also literally grew up with some of the artists!!

'Supporting Local' and showcasing the best of the Island's Artists is important to me. I enjoy working with all the featured artists. Creating and curating exhibitions - being the hub of energy that keeps the Gallery going.  All the artists offer a high level of excellence and quality of works in a broad range of mediums, styles and genres.

The collection is curated by myself with artist collaboration and planning. Most of the artists are Island residents and there are also artists from further afield who love the Island and visit regularly to produce works, especially for the Gallery.

How I ended up owning a Gallery on the Island...

I started to help out and then manage the space when the space was under previous ownership. I then took over the space, radically changed the interior and feel and created Seaview Art Gallery 8 years ago. I chose many new artists and added selected jewellery, antiques, collectibles, marine items, beautiful crystal and drinking and bar accoutrements I have been working in the same space in Seaview on the Isle of Wight for over 11 years.

I love the village and it's wonderful welcoming feel of community.

Let's not forget another important asset to Seaview... the beauty of the award-winning, conservation-protected beaches of Seaview and the surrounding coastline. It's a short distance, with wonderful walks, to Ryde or St Helens and Bembridge with a smattering of cafes, pubs and restaurants along the way. Lots to offer and great for families or couples.

Speaking of Award Winning...

Seaview Art Gallery was lucky enough to be voted winners of

Best Art Gallery in Hampshire and the Isle of Wight Award between 2019/20, '21 and '22 ! ! (Final '23 & '24)

We were voted to win this title in the Muddy Stilettos Awards (for Business and Life Style) which are held every year. They are hotly contested. We are especially proud to have won this accolade several times because it's the customers and people who have experienced the Gallery first hand who voted for us. This support means so much and is very humbling.

Thank you x.

It's a Special Island...

I love the Island whether it's the busy times with long days, warm breezes, blue skies, and abundance with lots going on in the Spring and Summer months or the quieter times of the year with more changeable weather, big skies, cool winds, billowing clouds, longer shadows, and ever-changing beach-scapes.

The beauty of the Island and its shorelines continue to delight the senses and ignite the spirit.

The connection is always strong.
